Christian Meditation: Let The Healing Begin Today

I heard the pain in her voice as we spoke. Waves of self-doubt and fear crippled her ability to make choices. She was a good Christian woman, reading her Bible and praying, but she wasnt experiencing a sense of Gods presence. She couldnt feel His love or His guidance. She didnt know if she could meditate, and she wondered if it would make a difference anyway!

But she knew she needed something, and perhaps in desperation she decided to try a brief guided Christian meditation. The meditation quieted her spirit, and opened her heart so she could receive the comfort and hope God had been offering her all along. She was amazed at the peace she felt, and she was excited by the new and hopeful thoughts that began to emerge.

Have you wondered if meditation could help as you live your life right now? Perhaps you thought you'd have to meditate for months, or even years, before youd begin to benefit.

Not so! As my friend experienced, meditation can open your heart to the comfort of His presence just as soon as you Be still.

The physical changes from meditation begin immediately as well. In one recent study, people who had been meditating only 20 minutes a day, for 5 days, scored lower on anxiety and depression, lower on anger and fatigue, and higher on energy than they had scored just 5 days earlier.

Our bodies were made to meditate. Any time we walk in His paths, we experience the good fit God created. Even those who dont know Him can experience the physical blessings of His creation when they walk in the paths He created for them.

Right now--today--you can begin to meditate. Perhaps you want to try 20 minutes a day. Perhaps you will start with just 7 minutes.

But however you begin, meditation will make a difference in your life, as you quiet your mind and open your heart to His presence, and live in the pathways He created for you.

Perhaps you want to meditate, but you dont know how to start?

There are many ways to meditate, and you dont have to worry about which one to choose. Every path rooted in a desire for closer communion with Him is a path He will take to meet you.

To begin meditation, sit in a comfortable position, in a quiet place. Its helpful to read a scripture verse before you meditate, and allow a word or phrase to become your focus. Open your meditation with a prayer, asking the Lord to hold you and guide you. And then just breathe, and allow Him to fill your heart.

It may sound strange at first, but meditation is a natural process. Your mind will begin to quiet, and your body will remember how to calm and rest.

Many people find it helpful to learn meditation using a Christian Meditation CDs. That experience can be a bridge into meditation, much like sharing the journey with a trusted friend, walking with you along the path.

A Christian meditation recording is simply a way for you to open to the meditation process. The joy and communion of meditation still happen in your mind and body, heart and soul, as you open more and more fully to the Lord.

When you meditate, you step outside the dry landscape of everyday life, into the warm showers of blessings God has provided for us. Why not begin your meditation transformation today?
